Re: Hot dogs that aren't bun length
Because meat packers make the hot dogs and bakers make the buns. If Kraft Foods made hot dog buns, Oscar Mayer made hot dogs would probably fit them. Why aren't you worried why the dogs come 10 to a pack and buns come 8?

By the time I put the mustard, chili, onions & everything else on them I can't tell the difference.

You are correct sir. There are exceptions to many "rules". The pack also weighs 1 lb which is apparently how the meat packing industry prefers to package their product because that size is easier to weigh, sell and store. But they also don't fit on a standard bun which goes back to Supernova's rant.

Short wieners used to bother me--until I moved to NC where they have RED dogs...WTF is with a wiener being red? And it is SHORT, adding insult to injury!

I would just bite the ends of the hot dog off. Never paid much attention to it.

I hope you know where to draw the line about biting things that are too long!
