Re: Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Men
I had never seen Goodwill to Men, this was NEVER on TV in all the years I watched, and it's been a good many years since Peace on Earth was shown either. We had it on a tape though from the Bugs Bunny show, they had 3 Christmas cartoons on it and this was the one at the end...as a kid I didn't quite understand it because I didn't know about WWI, and it was kind of disturbing, obviously, but I always loved it. WHY they're not shown today I would like to know.

Do they even show Bugs Bunny cartoons on TV anymore? I suspect since they are old that is why they don't show them.

On occasion. I don't really watch Cartoon Network anymore because it's all crap but a while back they were showing the old Looney Tunes cartoons to promote the new Bugs and Daffy show that's come out, which also looks like crap. But in the more recent years the only place these have gotten air time have been as the one reel wonders for Turner Classic Movies, and I spent the last couple of years suggesting they play them over Christmas and with no results.

They really need to bring some old fashioned values back into Christmas, pity they won't.

Indeeeeed. Come to think of it there's a lot of older stuff that they should show for Christmas that they don't.

Seems they show the same stuff every year, Its a Wonderful life, Miracle on 34th St and March of the Wooden Soldiers. What other good old stuff could they put on?

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol, A Garfield Christmas, The First Christmas Snow (I know it gets played on ABC Family but they edit the hell out of it, they cut out the 'Save a Little Christmas for Christmas' song which is a very big part, they also cut up Mickey's Christmas Carol like a pizza), A Muppet Family Christmas which is ONLY uncut and full version on TV, all videos are cut immensely, and I can't remember when the last time was that Jim Henson's The Christmas Toy ever shown on TV.

They do show those Charlie Brown Christmases, one was on last night. I have to confess, I don't think I have seen any of the ones you mentioned above but the Garfield one does sound familiar.

It is a good one but it hasn't been given the prime time TV airing treatment like the Peanuts specials in about 20 years.

Another one that hasn't seen the TV light of day for almost 2 decades, the Claymation Christmas Special, unfortunately this one isn't available in full form which is too bad because the two hosts' comments in between songs is very good, but here're a few clips from it:
