I actually saw it like in the 80's and it was pretty good so I also liked the remake. I am a big fan of old horror movies I guess you are too.

Yeah, as a kid we had three horror movies to watch, and all of them were from the late 50s, The Blob, The Bat, and House on Haunted Hill. I first saw the remake when I was 8 and it premiered on Sci-Fi Channel. I've seen more of the older horror movies than the new ones and I really can't find any being made today that are actually any good. In most of the older ones I've seen however, there's always something good to them.

I have seen the Original House on Haunted Hill and the re-make and no way is the re-make better than the original!

Oh I know! And if the remake was bad, it sequel is atrocious beyond ANY words, and can you believe they want to make a third one in the new series?

It beats the hell out of me what they're going to do. Okay, in the '99 movie, the house is evil because Vannacutt and all his staff were evil...in the seqeul, Vannacutt wasn't evil, he found a Baphomet statue that turned him evil, the statue is removed from the asylum and the evil is gone from the building. At the end, two people on the beach find the statue, so, Vannacutt's evil is gone, the evil of the hospital is gone, there'd be no reason to go back to the nuthouse, so just WHAT do they intend to do for a third one? It makes no sense to me.

Usually when they pretty much solve the mystery in the prior sequel the new one is almost always pretty bad. I hope they forget it. I would like to see a re-make of "It the terror from beyond space" they say Aliens is based on that movie but I would like to see that one exactly as is updated.

Yes I did, I also saw the re-make which I liked too. The original I saw as a kid, scared the hell out of me. The re-make of course has better special effects.

Only all my life. That was one of the first movies I ever saw on TV and it scared me a lot as a kid but I loved it. I still watch it every New Year's Eve, they used to do that on TV but they quit it a looooong time ago. And we saw it on Cinemax and they had that Something Special presentation where they talked about it AND the remake, so for years my brother and I wanted to see the remake and then in 1998 it premiered on the Sci Fi channel and I loved that one too, it freaked me out too but not as much as the original did. And the first one was also my introduction to Daughter of Horror, I looked for years to see that movie too.

To this day, I've never seen this movie. I wish TCM would put it on the schedule.

I loved this movie. It used to air on the local stations from time to time when I was a kid.

I could never stand the little kid brother in his PJs and cap pistol. Always wanted the Blob to get him.
