No way. I couldn't imagine it. I want to do things with family that involve interaction. I never understood why Christmas and Thanksgiving are so popular for people going to the theater.

Yes I did once. I took my cousins to see Mighty Joe Young remake I think it was around 98 or 99 for get what year. After it was over we went back to the Christmas Festivities.

As a kid I didn't even know movie theaters were open on Christmas, I used to think everything was closed down for the holiday. I've never gone to one on Christmas, but my niece and I went to see Night at the Museum one Christmas Eve, only time we went to the movies together...and we got a lot of popcorn and cotton candy and that mixed with all the other holiday food for the next two days, was suspected of causing my terrible stomach flu the next night.
Now I've seen an ad for this movie The Darkest Hour...I don't know about anyone else but on Christmas of all days this would definitely NOT be on my agenda to see.

I have gone to movies on Christmas day here on Miami Beach and was surprised to find the theater packed. I don't celebrate Xmas in traditional ways but thot most others did. Apparently not.

Once, and that was the year that my child died. Didn't celebrate Christmas that year.
But I have no trouble with the idea. It's a good way to diffuse boredom with family for a couple of hours; just pile into the car.

used to be a family tradition, movie first then the dinner... dont know why. as an adult i have gone several times... dont remember what i saw... except i think i did see Scream on xmas

That 'family' shit on Christmas is for the birds. You can only hang out but so much with family. I have no problem going to the movies on Christmas day. Hell, I've even gone out to the club on Christmas.
