Did your parents keep a book chronicling your first years?

If you have children, did you do this with your own?

Yeah I have a baby book with my birth certificate and my first lock of hair they cut off and that kind of stuff. I haven't seen it in years and don't think there was much in it, but I think I would do it if I had kids.

This is so funny because I just got finished looking through my baby book for the first time in about 10 years. It's quite detailed and has stuff like the first time I stood up by myself, walked, spoke, etc. My first word was apparently "cookie". It has a lock of hair from my first haircut and pictures of me from every age an almost every birthday. Unfortunately, it also has a naked picture of me as a 2 year old in the bathtub with my little ding dong showing.

No, my parents didn't have one for me. Don't think that was a common thing then.

Did make one for my daughter, which contains a small lock of her hair. Unfortunately, she never got to see it.

Nah. I just got pictures and other small mementos.

Yep....but it was never complete. I think those things go up to about 5 years old, and the info. in mine seems to stop after I turned one. My parents obviously lost interest in maintaining it.

My twins have one, but when they were little they got their hands on it and wrote all in it....so it's raggedy.

Yea I got a baby book but it hasnt held up well. Last time I saw it it was coming apart and was even missing some pages.

no... my mom had 5 kids and a dead husband... she said life was too depressing to want to remember!

i did make baby books for my sister's three kids though

Yes they did. God only knows where it is now, though.
