Have your parents personalities changed with age? Have they become easier going, more crotchety, or are they essentially the same as they ever were?

My mother's loosened up as she's gotten older. When we were kids, there was absolutely NO cursing allowed, and now that we're grown up she lets off several times a day with hells, damns and shits, but still the F word better not EVER be said in her presence.

My mother got more bitter, but when Alzheimer's set in she became docile and childlike. My dad remained the same but fought depression, I think (from his physical ailments).

Both. My ma has loosened up a lot, and in return there are things she's much more crotchety about.

My father has gotten worse with age.

They're pretty much the same.

My dad died at 30. but my mom who is now 74 has drastically changed. She used to be incredibly depressed, she is not so much anymore that she has retired. She was always very prudish, and a big lecturer... and she has a horrible memory. Because life was pretty bad for her, she "made up" memories... she still swears that she made apple pies from a tree in our yard--- IT NEVER HAPPENED. I have the only italian mother in the world that doesnt cook and never did! lol

They've become a little of both. Easy going in that they won't protest as much, but they make up their minds quick and when they do it's pulling teeth to change it.

They are the same.
