Has a Company Ever Scammed You?

Have you ever been duped out of money from a company that pushed a product that was actually bogus.

There was a company who made the effort but I knew a little more about the law than they thought. Once they were contacted by the office of the state attorney general they were more than happy to return my money.

Nope. Can't recall.

Here in Canada the home heating gas was deregulated, for months we had other gas companies coming around trying to sell us on their company at a higher price. It actually worked on some of the older people in our area. Cost one $350.00 to get out of the contract. Even our son was tricked into signing a contract under the guise that he was signing a form to receive information,(that should have given him a hint)! Fortunately here you can get out of contracts like that within 10 days, the next day he actually read the paper he signed at the door, called and cancelled. They even try to tell us that they are the gas company we already deal with. Even though our gas company sent a letter out telling us that they would never be coming to the door that way. From the start we were suspicious, and then angry when they showed up daily for a while. They soon were met with outright hostility. Now they only come once in a while.

Nope, I've never put myself in that position.
