In your opinion, should mothers who give birth to babies afflicted with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (or with any kind of fetal abuse injuries) be charged with child endangerment?

I think it's a slippery slope because what about in cases of women who didn't know they were pregnant initially? So then you'd be punishing women for drinking, which is legal. The only answer to that would be to try Prohibition again and we all know how well that one worked out last time.

Eh. Maybe, maybe not....but I have no problem with not allowing those mothers to have custody.

There should be an automatic investigation. If it can be proven that the mother acted deliberately in exposing the infant to toxins while in utero, I would be in favor of having her charged.

Since woman can easily claim they didn't know they were pregnant, it would cost too much to investigate.
