Yes. The aftermath of a hit-and-run murder in front of my apartment. I missed the actual impact but saw the old woman's body in the middle of the street. I raised so much hell in the local press about the rich guy whose car they knew hit the woman that the State Attorney asked me to come in and give a statement. I was deposed with the court stenographer taking notes, which I had to later read and verify as true.
I was also deposed by the State Atty when one of the clients in my group home was involved in a sex abuse case with one of her instructors at her day program. Janet Reno was pissed that my testimony indicated that the retarded woman was in fact sexually aggressive. The guy should have been fired, but there was no criminal exploitation on his part. You do not want to hear a prominent state attorney seething at you on the phone then hanging up abruptly.

Once a man made a turn into the drivers side of our car. 'Twas a small town and the police knew him and didn't know us. He quickly acknowledged the fault was his because he was watching something on the other side of the road. The police kept trying to shut him up but thankfully he was a decent honest man. We of course in the midst of events were also giving our side of the story. He owned the local aquarium and we were invited to go through it, then later he hired my husband to paint some signs for him.
