Question Deciding to get rid of the land line....

Post by RedBedroom Wed Feb 01, 2012 10:04 pm

For those of you who decided to get rid of the land line, are you happy? Or have there been any negatives associated with it?

I'm really thinking about it when our contract on the bundled services run out. But I am so timid to do it. But most calls on the land line are just telemarketers.

I haven't had a land line in about 5 years. I don't miss it. This cable is about to go too.

I am thinking of getting rid of cable too...but it would such to miss MSNBC and live Supercross races, so I think we shall keep cable. But Netflix really removes the need for expensive cable for most.

Question Re: Deciding to get rid of the land line....

I havent had a land line in years--- except for one month when i was talked into it by comcast "it would only be another $7 per month". So I thought what the hell. But they sold the number to everyone under the sun! From car insurance to psychics, I was harrassed all day and night. As a night worker, i really resented being woken up at 8am! And even after I got insurance quotes to try to stop the calling.. Allstate STILL called my 10 times a day because it takes 30-60 days to get off the list. 1 day to get on, but 2 months to get off!

I sleep so much better without a land line! LOL

Haven't had a landline for a few years. Don't miss it. But be prepared for the cable company to jack your cable rate Red. They like to do that when you drop a service.
