Music Buying music after the artist dies

Buying music after the artist dies Whitney_houston_the_bodyguard_soundtrack_1992

We just saw with Whitney a huge spike in the sales of her music following her death. Did you buy any of it? On a broader note, have you ever bought an artists music during the immediate aftermath of their death?

Not the aftermath of the death itself but unreleased material that came out later.

No, I was not a Houston fan. And I don't believe I've bought music just because someone died. I've had a Teena Marie collection on my list for awhile but that's been before she passed on, and will probably pick it up within a month or two when I make my annual trip to record store.

No if I liked them before they died then I probably already had their music. If didnt then I wont buy it just cause they died.

I have had a few Whitney CD's for a few years. After Michael Jackson died, I bought an iTunes download of Thriller because I didn't have that in my collection.

I didn't buy any of her music after she passed I've had cd's of hers already.

And no, Aaliyah, 2pac, Biggie, Left Eye, I've already had all their music before they passed. And Michael? Was never really a fan of his, the 2 songs I do like by him, if I'd like to hear them, I can just youtube them.

Nah....I'm not that much of a tool. Chances are I already had their music before they died and if I didn't I'm not gonna run out and buy it just because they're a hot topic.

If I didn't buy it before, surely have no reason to buy it A.D. It's not like it will disappear in a year or two?
