    Another celebrity death: Davy Jones of "The Monkees" has passed away from a heart attack, this morning: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/entertainment/post/2012/02/monkees-star-davy-jones-dies-at-age-66/1

    I remember watching their TV show as a kid and I recently got their greatest hits album from the library.

    Was never a fan of the group or their television show, but they were icons of their era and it appears that he was probably the groups most notable and sought after member.

    ^^Yeah, they were sort of quirky but fun-loving, goofy and light-hearted, and looking back, that's a nice change from all the celebrity horror stories you hear about.

    I always remember the episode of "The Brady Bunch" where Davy guest starred as Marcia's date in a contest she won! LOL I think every pre-teen girl in America skipped their homework that night, just to watch the show and how cute Davy was!

    Holy cow! That's news!

    I saw him at a performance at the Santa Cruz beach back in the 90's. He sounded better. It was fun.

    I mean no disrespect at all here, but I actually feel more of a letdown and "Oh No", with Davy's passing, than I did Whitney's. Whitney was more of an "Oh Wow" for me, but Davy is that super-sad, "Oh No" when someone you remember from your childhood passes on.

    I remember Daydream Believer from playing on the radio a lot in '67. but I was out of town when The Monkees were a TV sensation, so I never got into them as a group.
