How lactose tolerant are you? Can you drink a lot of milk or eat a lot of dairy and not be bothered?

It's fine with me, as a kid I drank milk just about all the time. Now what I can't understand is my sister is lactose intolerant, absolutely cannot drink milk or she gets sick, but she can eat dairy products, does that make sense? My mother had never heard of that one and neither had I.

I drink a lot of milk and eat cheese & yogurt without any distress.

I can see milk affecting someone where cheese or yogurt would not, because the bacteria working on those products may add enzymes or remove the need for them that are missing in lactose intolerant ppl.

I like milk and could drink a lot if I so choose. My husband it very lactose intolerant, he has to take pills before eating cheese or ice cream. I buy him lactose free milk for his cereal.

Well, I don't eat a lot of dairy in general. I can eat a good amount of dairy and still be good though. A lot of black people are lactose intolerant....fortunately, I'm not one of them.....

I don't tolerate it well. I never take pills, I just avoid it. Except for cheese...can't avoid cheese! Cheese doesn't bother me too much in small amounts.
