My question is when did she have Robert, when she was nine?

LOL - well - Jessica Leccia was born in 1976, so she's 33 or 34 right now. Nate is 15 and it sounds like James is about the age of Starr, maybe a year older, so I'm guessing he's 18 or 19. Bobby is proably in his early 20's - maybe 21 or 22. I'm guessing TPTB will make Mama Ford 40 or so - stretch the age a few years - but yeah - she really does look more like their older sister than their Mom. She might be old enough to have Nate, but not Bobby and James.

Can't stand the Fords except for James but if the writers were smart they'd use Inez young age to explain her characters motivation more. She was a teen preyed upon by an older hardened CRIMINAL who abused her so much she wound up miscarrying... so when he knocked her up again she fled to protect her baby, Nate, from that monster.

She left James and Bobby behind thinking they stood a better chance of surviving. Not a smart idea but she was very young and terrified.

At least use her obvious young age versus ignore it !

IA, JL looks more like she's playing their older sister than their mother. Hell, I only barely (and I do mean barely) accept her as Nate's mother. James, and especially Ford looks so far fetched that suspension of disbelief isn't working for me.

Robert Ford is what 24? So Inez could have been 15 when knocked up with him and be 39, I can buy she looks 5-6 years younger than she actually is. On soaps ages mean very little.

She is obviously older than she look. I am taking it she ran before she told their father about her being pregnant with Nate and they don't even know they have a younger brother. It is obvious she was afraid of him after listening to the boys talk about how bad he was.

I'm trying to give this family a chance but all I can think is that the mother is way too young and the boys all look and act the same.A little diversity would have been nice.Plus this whole plot puts me in mind of the Summer of Santi,only this time Blair is the bamboozled bride instead of Jessica.

oltl has been suspending belief for quite awhile now.

I am already hating her for deserting her children for any reason when she knew what their father was like.

Yeah - it'll be interesting to hear why she left, though I'm wondering if they'll turn it into some kind of thing where the Dad forced her out - threatened the boys or something - and she was too young and inexperiences to know better? I don't know.

I find the age thing hard to swallow at times, too - never bought Rex and Gigi as Shane's parents, maybe because they act so childish and immature that I think of them more in keeping with the teens than with the adults. I was surprised they chose such a young actress to play Mama Ford, even if we are stretching the ages.

I like the Ford boys... well - James and Nate - and am softening toward Bobby a bit, but only time will tell. Should be interesting, esp. if Papa Ford comes to town.
