| If ever you run into someone you used to know, who is your age, are you ever surprised by how much older or younger they look in comparison to you? Last week I was sent a friend request on FB by someone who was in my graduating class and was stunned by how middle aged they looked in their recent pictures. On the other hand, about a year ago I saw someone at the gym who I went to school with, and it was like time had stood still for them.
I guess this is just the irony of what it means to be a thirty-something. Some of your peers look ten years older and others still look like they're in college.

| Hell, I noticed surprising changes in my 10-year reunion! Already at 28, those that aged the hardest were mostly "the pretty people" while those who improved were the plain and homely ones.
As for myself, I've aged better than most of them. When I go home and run into a classmate that is still living there, assessing how they've aged is usually the first thing I notice. But I think that is a very natural thing, considering how competitive high school classmates are. It made or broke our self-image.

| Some of them I do. I saw this one girl I went to elementary school with and she looked damn near fifty years old. Others have gained weight, had kids, looked worn out and some looked the same. I still look the same after 10 years. | |

My 10 year reunion is coming up and I probably won't recognize half of those trolls! If it wasn't for the name, I wouldn't know them when they hit me up on Facebook! I'm the poster child for this...I was awkward and not-too-hot in high school. I mean, I was okay looking, I just didn't jump in a pool of Cover Girl before walking in school. I didn't really do much to draw attention to myself but I had opinions that differed from the "in-crowd" so people loved to take jabs at me. Fast forward 10 years--I can still fit my prom dress, I'm styled better because I've learned how to work with what I have, I own my own business, gotten my degrees, can make my own living, and have many guys from high school attempt to date me. Meanwhile, I keep seeing facebook status from the "popular people" complaining about EVERYTHING--a piss poor baby daddy, weight struggles, economic problems.... ::gasp:: You mean to tell me that POPULARITY DOESN'T PAY THE BILLS?

I think you should wear your prom dress to your reunion since it still fits, with a sign on your back that says "Eat Your Hearts Out, Suckers!!"

It is VERY much a possibility! (plus I paid $300 for that sucker. I'm wearing that bad boy to my WEDDING dinner lol.)

| Social media means we don't even have to "run into" these people to see what has become of them! I love being secretly judgemental to those I went to h.s. with!
Regarding my actual graduating class, I think most of us are pretty similar. Some have put on a few pounds (like me) but most are just about the same. One guy I did run into years ago had lost most of his hair and that was a shocker as we were only about 27 at the time. He was still good looking but his looks were downgraded when he asked if I knew how to score cocaine in our small town. Ick.
