Greeting cards from a store other than the dollar store are so expensive. It is crazy what they charge for a little card.

Agree or disagree...greeting cards are over-priced and a total waste of money...

And that's why I only get the cheap ones unless it can't be helped.

I think they're ridiculous. Hate buying them especially when a card is about $5 now. That's crazy.

I've been getting e-cards from ppl who send them. Some are quite cute. I've never been much of a card user - and have often made my own when it was a special occasion. Some ppl appreciate the personal touch.

A personal touch is always better than just signing your name to words someone else wrote.

Depends on where you buy them. I stay out of the Hallmark store because we've always had at least one %50 off card store in the area.

I just paid 6 bucks for 2 cards, they are way overpriced! I don't think they are a waste, you have to hand select it for the person you are buying it for and whatever it says in the card is what comes from your heart.

I bought a birthday card for my mother for $4. They're pricey, but I hardly buy them often enough to worry about it

For me, it depends on store prices. In my area, stores like Family Dollar and a few grocery stores sell cards for $2-3 each which isn't too bad. The only time I buy birthday cards is if I'm giving someone a gift at a party or if they are close friends or relatives who live near me. I have a few close relatives who live out of state so I now send them ecards or egiftcards that have greeting in them.
Another option for greeting cards is buying boxed sets that have 20 cards or more for stuff like birthday, sympathy, Christmas, Valetine etc.

I never particularly cared for greeting cards in general; they are a burden to pick up for every holiday, birthday and special occasion. But I do it anyway. And yes, they are pricey. Especially if you go to a greeting card store, like Hallmark.
