As for the offensive slang, this is a sore spot with me and the PC press. The AP stylebook used to say you had to make quotes exact, yet I have seen writers say shit like "Woman is the N-word of the world" a quote of John Lennon who did not utter 'N-word.'
I contend that when reporting on nutcase racists you get the full impact of quoting their diatribes exactly. Or, you can say as they usual do, "this guy wrote on facebook that he had a problem with these F-word N-words."
