    In order to say you've dated someone, how many dates would you have had to be on?

    My subject line may be a bit confusing. What I am trying to ask is how many dates make the difference in "I dated him/her" and "He/She and I went on a few dates."

    To me, four or five would count as "I dated him." But I guess I go with so few as I knew most of the people I dated before we became romantic.

    Hmmm....good question. I would say about a month of having a casual relationship would qualify as "dated" him/her.

    How about "I met her at a bar, she took me to her place and I spent the night, leaving the next morning with no intention of seeing her again." Would that be considered a date?

    OK, I claimed to have never dated, but technically I think going on a 'date' means two ppl getting together to share their company on a set 'date.'

    So, I met this guy online and he suggested we meet IRL when he was in town. He came by my apartment and picked me up, drove me to Olive Garden and we had dinner together, which he paid for. He drove me back to my apartment and I invited him in for a nightcap.

    Does that sound like a date? If so, I guess I have taken two other similar dates in the past with online friends that I met IRL and took to dinner and ended up in a hotel room with them. Blue Cool
