    Food Ignoring Cooking Instructions

    Post by Marc™ Thu Apr 19, 2012 8:24 pm

I never read the instructions on the back of TV dinners or frozen pizza. For TV dinners I always just set the shit for 5-6 minutes....or if it's pizza, I'll put it in the oven on 500 for 20 minutes. Always turns out right.

Do you ever ignore the cooking instructions on the back of whatever you're making?

It depends on what is being cooked. When baking a cake for instance one needs to follow the recipe to the letter. Other things might not need that attention to detail.

Not really. I figure they made it, they should know the right way to cook it. Some microwave food might have to be adjusted depending on the power of our microwave.

For the most part, I'll follow the instructions.

Just to be better safe than sorry, I almost always follow the instructions.

Only if I've made it enough times to know what I'm doing. If it's some kind of new, or unfamiliar food item, then I follow instructions.

I always glance at the preparation instructions just to get the gist but some things are so general and you've made so many times before that it's not always necessary to follow them down to the letter.
