Is there an age you think it becomes wrong to still nurse? I guess this cover stems from an article about the new buzz in the world of parenting. Something called "attachment parenting."

I think once age three hits, it's time to call it a wrap.

Some cultures where breast feeding is seen as natural (go figure) it is routine to nurse for five years. Many times it is in places where food sources are limited. A mother does what a mother must do.

my sister lived in san fran & san diego.. then moved to hawaii... apparently on the west coast, breast feeding is all the rage, and she belonged to a breast feeding "group" where they would all go to the park together with these kids that WERE up to 5yrs old.. and pop out their titties and start feeding.. then yell at any passersby who gave them nasty looks

when my neice went to school... it was ACTUALLY written in the school policy that "all children must be toilet trained and weaned from nursing before entering kindergarten" WHAT??? toilet trained and weaned???

i actually remember that I was the one who put an end to the breast feeding of my niece when they came here for a few months to visit.... if the kid is old enough to walk, talk, and climb into ur bed and undress you so they can latch onto your nipple... the kid is too DAMN old!!!! the kid used to call my sis "mommy milk truck!" and my dumbass crazy sister thought it was cute and adorable!!

freakin rich ass yuppies with their infinitys and their bmws who just use their kids to be a part of something!!

Yikes I remember advising young parents that their child would not wear a diaper or take a bottle to kindergarten with him or her.

I don't blame that kid one bit. Looks like it would take the Jaws of Life to get him off that. Of course, if he didn't need a chair to reach, I'd say we've got a bigger problem.

Well, I respect how the human body will produce enough milk to feed its young for as long as it needs too. I remember reading a story about a woman who was traveling with a bunch of men on a boat and they got stranded at sea. She already had a couple of kids and just recently had a baby and she breastfed each of the men for about two weeks until they were rescued. When they kid is old enough to pop out the titty him/herself.....it's time to wrap it up.

When they're old enough to manually feed themselves is when mothers need to ween them off the nipple and let them do it.

That kid doesn't look like a three year old. Even w/o the chair he's almost half her height. Makes me wonder if she's on the juice........

MY opinion is if they're big enough to hold their own bottle then they don't need their moms titty anymore. I find that cover annoying because of how forced the visual is. A kid that old should be well past the nursing stage. Other kids his age are on juice boxes and eating table food while he's still as dependent on the breast as a 6 month old. His mother is either some radical "lactivist" or has over attachment issues or both.

Sorry but that is a little darling that would get his butt paddled every time he pulled a stunt like that. Unless of course he is mentally deficient. The average mentally normal child wouldn't touch his own crap at that age.

hahhahaha... i feel the same way--- my kid aint doing it!!

the doctors tried to tell her that because when he was 8mos old and was consitpated then... apparently it was soooo painful that as a 5yr old.. he still remembers teh pain (most likely unconsciously).. and therefore does not like to deficate. so supposedly... he holds it in... they put this poor kid on laxatives and stool softeners so that he could go, and now he is totally nutz

When the kid can eat with utensils, it's time to knock that shit off. If women think they need to do that for extended periods of time, then express it with a breast pump and put it in a friggin cup. But for Christ-sake, pry the kid off your tit before he starts having mommy-issues and ends up another Norman Bates!

If your baby is potty training, he should be learning to do without your breasts as well.

I knew someone whose 8-year-old would suck on the tit whenever he wanted to, but it was obvious to the rest of us that it wasn't because he was particularly hungry (and, yes, she had a baby, too). To me that is absoltuely disgusting. He's probably and adult with a family of his own now. His wife probably has to wear a nursing bra.

Some women take it too far. I don't think babies should be nursed past the first 12-16 months. By the time they're 2 years old, that phase should be over and done.
