In your opinion, is it a good idea for students to take a gap year in between graduating high school and starting college, or not?

Depends on the individual....but in general, no. The longer you wait, the longer and sometimes harder it would be for you to finish. Get it out if the way. I'm learning my lesson the hard way.

i said that i was going to take a year off--- then i got into the work/create bills/need to work to pay bills/bought a car to go to work/had to work to pay for the car---
once you start working and creating bills.. your done! I eventally did get my associates... but it took me 7yrs for a 2yr degree trying to work full time, and had gotten married---hubby was not supportive

I took almost 12 years between high school and college. I went to a community college right out of high school but lasted one semester. 12 years later I finished the CC and went to Eastern Michigan where I completed 4 more years and loved it.
Coming out of high school I just wasn't that into it.
