Do you know anyone still fixated on a romance they had years ago?

It's one thing to reflect on a past love, but quite another to still be fixated on the person.

I know this chick named Angela who I went to church with and we often saw each other at a certain club! We were not the type of friends who would call each other but we talked a lot when together. Anyway, she had dated the pastor's son and the pastor and his wife did not like her at all. She was totally into him and went a bit nutty when she heard he went on a date.

So, I had not seen her for a couple years until I started to date Jay. Angela ended up marrying a guy who raced motocross, so I saw her when Jay still raced. She was married and still talking about the pastor's son and wanted to talk all about him. I was thinking, "Gee, lady, it's been a few years...you're married....get over it."

Well, anyway, a couple years ago, her husband started to race again after quitting for several years. She is still obsessed over the pastor's son. He has married and she talks so much about him still today. So strange.

But to answer the question, No, I don't know anybody like that.

I am not fixated on old loves but sometimes I just wonder what became of them. With the women it is difficult to locate by name since they often change.

I tried to see if 'Mrs. R' was around when I passed thru New Orleans the last time. No success. If she is still around she would be 86 now. I also think of my first love, Halet who is now 65.

And I often think about my lesbian friend Dede who I had sex with for a couple of weeks in 1980, then lost contact with her. I suspect she may have used me for some genetic material.

Yes a friend of mine. She was in a serious relationship back in the 90's with a guy she was sure she was going to marry. They were together for a few years. Then he left her for another woman.

She really was broken up over it. But then he broke up with the lady he left her for and she was certain he would come back to her. He didn't. Instead he married another woman.

My friend really never got over this guy. She told him she was happy being just friends with him and his wife and they accepted that. It's kind of a wierd relationship. She became best friends with his wife and claims she was just friends with him. I know he no longer has any feelings for her other than friendship but I also know she still has a thing for him although she would never admit it.

I would say that's a kind of fixation in a Soap Opera-y kind of way.

well... i will be honest. I was kinda fixated on an old friend that i did sleep with before i met my ex-husband. i wasnt happy in my marriage, and i did daydream over the friend. he was married, and then when he divorced i was involved. he had been friends for 15yrs.. then we finally got together it sucked! the first night i spent over at his house i wound up crying in the bathroom. And that is not like me, im a "fuck you asshole, im gone" type. but in my head, we were really good friends, i daydreamed about him forever, and i wanted to make it work.

After i eventually ended it... chris and i started talking. then HE came back to me, and over 3yrs later, he still tells me that he "didnt know what he had when he had it". he makes weird comments at times and i try to avoid them
