I Am All Freakin' Done!!!!

With creating Clinical Chemistry-1, the course I'll be teaching in September! Oh snap!!

Everybody do the happy dance with me--I just finished up the final exam for the course and have everything all set to go in two 5-inch binders, along with a DVD for most topics! Yay! Yay! Yay!


(except now I have to start on Chem-2, for second semester, but I just needed to gloat for a moment. . . LOL)

So are you getting your doctorate and then teach college courses? I have a friend finishing up her master's in nursing and my aunt finished her master's about 3 years ago. I hear it's a beast. Congrats.

LOL--thanks, all!

NY--no doctorate, and I don't even have a Master's or a teaching certificate. I have a BS in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science, and that field is a little different as far as teaching goes--they want people from the field and who have worked in the trenches to train up the next generation of lab techs, so they pull from that pool to teach the classes. It's no different than me training the students in the lab itself, just will be doing it in a group in a classroom. They have 8 weeks of clinical rotation after each Chem-1 and Chem-2 course, and I'll have to make site visits to work with them, at the facilities they will be doing hands-on training at. Sort of like a doctor-intern, just interning in the lab.

I'm hoping it will turn into full time, and I can teach all the courses--Chem, Hematology, blood bank, urines, serology, but just not microbiology--that was my worst subject and I always hated it! LOL


And Shale--yep, had to order two more 5-inchers to use with course #2, so that makes 4 binders-o-fun to feed the students info from. LOL

Today, I spent the morning up at the college for student orientation day, and met all the students I'll have in class. There will be 6, possibly 7, and between myself, the program director, and one other guy, it's just the 3 of us to teach all the courses to the lab students. There's only 5 courses, though, for this coming year, so the others get 2 to teach and I take just chemistry. Should be a good thing, because it feels "right"!
