When I was a little kid. I knew at an early age that I wasn't gay. Well I would have if I'd known about sodomy when I was 5 but looking back I knew I didn't like anything stuck up there.

I was actually trying to figure out how to bring this up. When I was a kid, I knew of ONE way to take your temperature, in your mouth. I remember the new thing was ads on TV for a new baby thermometer that you stick in their ear; in the commercial they show a baby and the woman says 'you're tired, cranky, and now your mommy wants to take your temperature WHERE?' and it showed the baby close its mouth so I figured it went in the mouth. Now another one I read about was to take a baby's temperature, or I guess anybody's for that matter, by sticking a thermometer under their armpit, apparently that method didn't catch on.

I don't recall having a rectal temp taken as a child. I have taken rectal temps - using a glass thermometer (you cannot let go or you might lose it). The norm of 98.6 is oral, rectal will be more accurate and about a degree higher. Axilary, or armpit is about a degree lower. That is why you have to note where you took the temp.
