Do you hope to still hold your current position or move on to greener pastures? Is there room for advancement where you are now?

Greener pastures. There is room for advancement, I'd rather be in different field though in 10 years.

10 years from now I will be 77. I wouldn't be working here now if I weren't so old and the economy hadn't tanked. I no longer enjoy going to work but I am stuck there because I can't afford not to work. No chance of advancement, just go in and do as little of the grind that I can get away with.

I have no problem with where I'm at but it's very possible I'll be somewhere else.

I'm not going to be doing this in 10 years. Hopefully, I'll have my master's and/or be working for myself. I come from entrepreneur blood. And the longer I keep working for someone else, the more I see the bullshit in it.

10 years from now, I hope to have gotten my Specialist in Blood Banking certification, and moved on to working in a Red Cross reference lab setting. Still lab stuff, just in a different area and minus a few assholes I work with now.

Yeah I would like to stay where I am unless I decide to move out of state.

LOL--thanks! And I hope to not be in too much debt, too, after having to pay for my daughter's college education that will be coming up in two years.
It'll be easier to get the SBB certification--because I've been in the field so long, I'm grandfathered in to only have to sit for the certification exam and pass it, and not have to take a now-required course. There are year-long courses that one can take as a prerequisite for the exam, which I would probably do, anyway, because it's only a year, and it certainly can't hurt the cause!

In 10 years I will be 82 and I hope I will still be doing the same job, the alternative would be pushing up daisies.

That won't be possible for me. I retire from the military in 5 1/2 years which means I'll have no choice but to move on.

I'm sort of half and half on it. On the one hand, naturally I would like to evolve and be able to move on to any greener pastures that are available; but on the other, my job is a very good one, so the thought of still being here in ten years isn't a bad one.
