| Who was it that taught you how to cook, and would you say that today you're as good a cook as they are? | |

| My first husband, plus I learned some on my own.
But my second husband influenced changes in my cooking, too. Both were/are great cooks but with different cuisine.

| Saw some cooking techniques as a kid watching mom and grandmom.
When I lived on my own for the first time, did a lot of package meals with instructions on the box. Then started venturing into cooking more from scratch, like dried beans & rice, homemade vegie soup.
Guess I just learned as I went along and as needed. Learned how to cook on campfires traveling thru Mexico, Guatemala and Costa Rica and while living in a cabin in the woods.
For a while cooked for a dozen ppl in a group home setting.

| I've picked up some things from recipes I've tried....but the basics I learned from my mother mostly and a few things from Home Ec. I don't cook as well as my mother, although I can prob. bake better than her. | |

| Mother taught me some things, picked up other things on my own. Nah I wouldn't say I'm a better cook than my mother though. I'm "just ok." | |

| from 5th - 8th grades cooking, sewing, art, music appreciation, computers, wood shop, metal shop were all mandatory classes. I remember making soft pretzels, pizza, corn bread, beef stroganoff, and many other things. However, other than that... no one taught me to cook... and i still can't. was thinking of moving so that RED could teach me LOL how you have some fire extinguishers! | |
