I think we can agree that would largely depend on what type it is.

Well, I suppose if it's REALLY early, the kids will be alright. But if it's anywhere close to adolescence, it's gonna wreck the kids. (Of course, our current cultures values wrecked kids. Instead of helping them, we want more.)

Come to think of it, I know of at least one instance where lack of porn has had deleterious results.

I saw my first porno at 7. I guess it would largely depend on the child. However, any parent who willingly exposes their kids to porn is stupid.

I was exposed to porn at a very young age and it did not negatively affect me at all.

I don't even think I did that when I saw it, I remember being very curious and wanting to see more LOL! The masturbating came a few years later.

It was at the time. When that happened people still thought it happened at 12, that's what my mother was expecting so she was very surprised when she found out I'd gotten my period; me, I had no idea what was going on and also didn't have a care in the world about it. And then when I was 12, my mother's best friend called her all worried because her 9 year old granddaughter had already gotten her period too, and when my mom told her I had at the same age, she said it was different because her granddaughter was so tiny. By the time I was 10 people already thought I was an adult, so I don't know. Anymore though I think probably more are starting closer to 9 than at 12.

I'm inclined to say not really. Most of us probably saw porn for the first time as kids. The first time I saw an X-rated movie, I was about six and had no idea what it was I was seeing. If it's ever a dangerous stimuli for a child, it's probably more so during adolescence, but even then I wouldn't be so quick to think that it would negatively affect a child. I guess it more depends on the environment of which they're seeing it.

There are too many variables in this question to be able to come up with a solid answer.

1) How do you define "porn" and what type of porn are you talking about here?

2) How old is the child? There's a big difference between a 4 year old, a 10 year old and a 16 year old, yet all are considered "children".

3) How often are they "exposed" to this porn? Was it a one time thing, or a recurrent event?

Even if we narrow down the parameters of this question a little more, there will sill be unknown variables. Much of this will come down to the type of upbringing the child has had and their individual personality and level of maturity.

Suffice it to say, I don't have enough information to be able to answer this question. The only answer I can give for now is MAYBE/MAYBE NOT.
