| I am really curious what it is like when kids are older and you are privy to them dating and/or getting married.
My stepdaughter is 23, but she has been with her bf for years. They did break up for a while and she did bring one other guy around and it was odd. But with that guy, I did not like the college he went to (just me being a judgemental tool) and he totally did not get our family humor. He was a friggin tool. Glad I only saw him once.
So, what's it like wondering if the one they are dating is going to be "the one" or not?

| it sux! My nephew used to have a great gf... and they laughed and had fun, she fit in with the family-- and apparently they had great sex cause they broke the sink in the restroom at one of our family businesses! LOL
then he cheated on her with a bitch--- then bounced between the two, until the bitch SAID she was pregnant, then had a "miscarriage". After that my nephew felt indebted to her and married her. They have a baby now... but she has NO personality at all. She is dumb, lazy, inconsiderate, and expects everyone to wait on her hand and foot. The only good thing i can say about her is that she is very photogenic.
As for the other kids, the 22 yrs old was told that he was a "possible candidate" to have fathered a baby... and the 20yr old has had the same gf for several years... and my sis and i took her to her first gyno appt when they had painful sex--- she has a misshapen uterus.
How does it feel to know the relationship/sexual aspects of the kids you raise??? uhmmm well... sometimes I feel really close to them... when they tell me things... or ask for advice, it makes me feel good to know they feel comfortable to discuss such matters with me. It lets us both know that no matter what--- if they are ever in trouble, they can rely on me. Part of it might be the fact that I was named their guardian in their parents' wills... so they knew growing up that if anything ever happened to my sis/BIL, they would be my kids.

| Our daughter could be dating her first husband now. He's very nice and treats her well so my wife and I don't have any problem if they decide to get married in a few years. Except how to pay for the wedding. | |

my friend is going thru that now with her son. his gf wants a huge wedding and her family is poor so they want my friend to pay for the wedding... she asked them, "how much money do you have saved?" they said "$500, we've been saving for months". But she picked out a $5000 gown she expects my friend to pay for!!! i got lucky, my sis/broinlaw paid for my wedding.. $3000 in three weeks of planning and it was awesome. So Al, do u keep the shotgun handy just in case?

| My daughter only brot two guys around when she was a teen. I was into fotografy at the time and got some really good pix of her and the first guy sitting in bliss on the couch (When I showed the pix she wasn't even aware I was there taking them).
But the fotogenic one didn't last. She had this other guy from HS who spent a few nights with her in her room. We helped set them up in their first apt together and that's who she is still with going on 30 years.

| My wife and I paid for everything except our honeymoon (including her dress) when we got married but we have no illusions that we'll be able to pay for our daughter's entire wedding. We'd like to but that ain't in the cards. Literally. Sorry but we're not maxing out credit cards. All parties concerned are going to have to chip in. | |
