Planning ahead for next year's New Year's resolution Empty Planning ahead for next year's New Year's resolution

Last year I got the idea to keep a record of all the books I read in one year, and I keep track of which are from my own collection, which come from the library, and which come in from other libraries. My personal home library is something over 3000 books and doing the math I figured it's going to take me at least 20 years to get through them all, that's nothing if not a depressing thought. I'm thinking next year I ought to resolve to take down the ones from the shelves that I've been looking at for a couple years and go through them and finally see if they're worth keeping or not.

Screw New Year's resolutions. Do you realize you only have 6 months of shopping days until Christmas?!

As a general rule I don't mess with them too much, but I figure by the time I get through reading the Wishbone Mysteries collection, the Oz books, The A-Team series, the Outrider series, the Springblade Series and the Fear Street Seniors' series, we'll be pretty close to next year anyway. So it's pretty likely The Poseidon Adventure, The Tower, The Glass Inferno, The Neverending Story, Zotz!, MASH, The Fountainhead, Atlas Shrugged, Varney the Vampire, Communion, Pet Semetery, Cujo, The Complete Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Sweeney Todd: The String of Pearls, The Yorkshire Ripper, The Making of the Atomic Bomb, My Search for Patty Hearst, All the President's Men, and plenty of others will have to wait for another year, or decade, or something.
