Now might be the perfect time to get some serious debate going about 'Global Warming' since the corporate world is in denial during anything that resembles normal weather.
It ain't that hot here in South Florida, no more than expected but we who live in coastal cities will soon (half-century is soon in global terms) have to start addressing the rising sea levels because of the melting ice caps.
IDK if it will ever get this bad
But the prediction is that Miami Beach will be history with just an expected six foot increase in sea level. Oh, we could probably build sea walls where our beaches are - but what's the point?

I don't call it global warming, I call it climate change, because that is what it is. We see droughts in places normally temperate, rain in places not expected, etc. Here where I live we used to have dry enough weather that cactus grew in places, in winter it would get bloody cold. Now 40 years later we are living in almost a rain forest, moss grows on our roof, on the north side of trees and worst in our damned lawn. We've had very little sun this summer, lot of rain and serious flooding in some parts of BC. All we needed to kill the pine beetles that were killing a particular type of pine was a week of -40°, one little week. We didn't get it, in fact it has been about 15 years since we had any temps approaching -40. The experts tell us that pine is now dead in BC and the beetles have moved on to Alberta. They don't care about their north, as evidenced by the gawd-awful mess they are making with the oil sands, so welcome to the pine beetle!
