Ne-Yo: “There’s Nothing I Can Do To Prove That I’m Straight”

Ne-Yo met up with ‘Hello Beautiful’ to promote his new album, ‘Libra Scale’, which hits stores on October 19th. During the discussion the singer/songwriter revealed that the mother of his child is actually his best friend and that he has decided to stop fighting rumors relating to his sexuality.

Me fucks with Ne-Yo. Always enjoyed his music. As far as the gay rumors....he does give off the little facial expressions that wouldn't prove otherwise, but I've never just gotten that gay vibe from him. On the other hand, my gaydar isn't the best in the world so I dunno, if he says he ain't, then I guess he ain't. Doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

I think Ne-Yo is as gay as a bag of Skittles. He sure does take colorful pictures.
He does spike my Gaydar, and half of it is based on his own continued desperation to shut everyone up about it. That was his second radio interview, over the span of just a couple of months, where he anxiously denies the allegations...going so far as to use his impending baby to justify his assertions of the rumors being false (Hey Shaffer, Ricky and Clay have babies too!) The hysterical thing about this latest interview is that he admits that he isn't with his child's mother, and calls her his "best friend." Boy, please.
Honestly, Ne-Yo has been on my "suspect" list ever since he released that very tacky, very staged, photo where it is implied that he is getting head from some hired groupie. That was a desperate move; and coincidentally, the image came very shortly after the gay rumors first began to surface.
Harder men than him in R&B/Hip hop have been accused of splurging with male bonding and handled it better. His reaction to the whole thing is a little too neurotic. He can't let it go, Mr. Independent needs us to believe that it isn't so, and thus fuels it all the more.

All I know is that the black bloggers destroy him on a regular basis! I'm surprised he hasn't run to one of the Kardarshian sisters for a photo op. to "prove" his "str8ness". If you have to DENY, DENY, DENY, then it’s usually TRUE, TRUE, TRUE.

“It’s just there was so much going on in regards to this album,” says Ne-Yo.
“Writing the script, making sure it was good, shooting videos and being
too hands on with the director, the artwork and everything.
Released in November, Ne-Yo admitted the album is his “poorest selling album to date.”
“I just wasn’t paying attention to certain elements in making an album that I normally would. My fans deserve my best.”
With that said, Ne-Yo has already started working on material for his forthcoming fifth album.
“I’m already working on my next album.
I took two years off in between Year Of The Gentlemen and Libra Scale.
I’m just going to get back to the basics and do what I do. My fifth
album needs to be about the songs, I don’t have a theme as such yet, it
will be what life is, the black white and grey – what it is to be alive
– that’s what this album is going to represent.”

I dig Ne-Yo, but I haven't heard this new album yet. I can say that that I wasn't that impressed with his first two singles. I'm hoping the rest of the album is significantly better.

New Song: Ne-Yo – ‘She Uses Me (Masturbation)’
Despite rising to success with the likes of ‘So Sick‘, ‘Sexy Love‘ and ‘Miss Independent‘, R&B staple Neyo has struggled in recent years to find footing on the ever changing terrain that is relevant Male Pop/R&B.
So it should come as no surprise that in an attempt to generate much needed attention, he has created a remix to Kelly Rowland’s ‘Motivation‘, named ‘She Uses Me (Masturbation)‘.
