Went to a wedding recently where they did not play any music while the bridesmaids walked the aisle--- just the bride. Is this something new? Or were they just weird? It did not seem right... almost like there was not really an "official" start of the ceremony.... people had no warning that the bridal party was coming down the aisle

Can't recall a wedding where they did that. Just asked my daughter who went to one on Friday and she said there was music for the whole bridal party introduction. Although the DJ was a fuck up.

There was no music when I got married. Of course, I eloped. 
But yes, that is strange. I would imagine the bride walking down the isle with no music would have felt awkward for everybody.
