OK, I know none of you has seen this but that hasn't stopped me yet. It's a one person show by Julia Sweeney. You may have seen her and not even known it. I guess she's best known for Saturday Night Live. Trivia for Pulp Fiction fans. She's Raquel, the daughter of the owner of the scrapyard where Jules, Vincent and Mr. Wolfe get rid of Marvin. Anyway, she's telling the story of her brother's fight against cancer.
It's a monologue by a woman who is very funny, and she uses humor to counterbalance the tragedy in the story she's telling. The movie manages to walk that tightrope of telling a very serious, sad personal story, but infusing it with humor (some of the "gallows" variety) without taking away from the serious tone.
