I kinda missed the inner city McCrory's & Woolworths which were more convenient than going to the Target, K-Mart & Wal-Mart that are in less developed parts.

Didn't bother me per se, but I wish Circuit City was still around.

All the little Ma and Pa stores that have closed in my neighborhood when it became "trendy" which is why I am not crazy about my city in general any longer.

A few years ago Zellers here closed rather than try to compete with the new Walmart, then the other anchor for the mall near us moved to a larger store across the street and the mall is now a dead mall. Now we are told all the Zellers stores will be closing bought out by Target. but of course our town no longer has a Zellers so we probably won't get a Target either.

Nothing brand name really, but I hated it when our bookstore closed because it only lasted 7 months and was the first one the town had had in at least 12 years, and I got a LOT of good stuff from there.

Aww man, how did I forget about Caldor! They were the shit. I liked them better than Wal-Mart or Target.

Re: Store closings that upset you.
Dillards had a clearance center over here that was the BOMB--yes, I had to use some 1996 slang cuz that store was the BOMB. They had weird hours and was on the other side of town so normally I would go when I was playing hooky from work.
I was also really pissed when we lost Cinnabon. They replaced it with a Cinnamonster but come on....WTF is a Cinnamonster? Tasted like a big ball of squishy flour.

Borders. I'm still sick about that. The first time I became hip to that place was at the same time I started college the semester after graduating HS. Them closing down that location just felt like a piece of that whole era dying.

Re: Store closings that upset you.
Just remembered there was a great grocery store, Big Star. They carried every item, brand, flavor & size of everything I used. Hated when they shut down.
