awesome movie... many stars.. i think it showed the panic and uncertainty of the times fairly well too. The local high school would play it in health class regularly.

Oh yeah! HBO usually makes some very good movies. This probably wouldn't have got made except for Richard Gere. There's a scene where one of the doctors from the CDC who are trying to track the disease is interviewing the wife of an elderly man dying of AIDS and he;s trying to ask her delicately if he's ever had sex with another man and she looks at him with total incomprehension and asks, "How would he have sex with another man?" Funny in a frightening way.
