Re: Fanfiction
I write it, though I do manage to find quite a few good stories from other people from time to time.

Re: Fanfiction
I've enjoyed some of the Star Trek stuff.
I have written one in the Twilight world called Dusk. It is an erotic piece involving Edward & Bella and her tasty blood.

True this. That's the beauty of it, if you didn't like a character, how an episode ended, a certain scene, or maybe even a whole damn season, you could rewrite it the 'right' way. Another beautiful part of fanfiction is when rules aren't set in stone, anything goes. Like Highlander fanfiction, everybody has a different theory about how the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse met and started, A-Team everybody's got a different idea is Murdock crazy or is he pretending to be crazy, etc.

Re: Fanfiction
99% of it truly sucks but there are some really good things out there. And it's always a pleasure to read those.

A large percentage of them are M (they can't rate them like movies now, so R is out, M for mature) rated sex stories, I'd think some people around here would be fine with that.

It depends on the talent & creativity of the writer. I've read not only a boatload but an entire fleet of slash. Some are damn good. Some need their keyboards taken away lol
One of the main problems I've seen with fanfiction of any type is the difficulty some seem to have with how to end a story. But some of the work I've read deserves to be published. When you find those it makes the ones that read like they were written by 10 year olds so worth it.

Well I can tell you first hand, it's easy to write the beginning, it's easy to write the wind down near the end, the middle usually has a way of taking care of itself, but it IS damn difficult to come up with the proper way to end it, especially if you're like me and started the story with all these ideas and then are wracking your brain to remember if you left anything out and need to do another chapter to get everything in.

I don't have much of an opinion about it one way or the other.

It isn't a new story, just a behind the scenes story from Breaking Dawn part 1
