I lucked out at the library's book sale tonight and found a lot of good stuff, including this. My mother already has the true cases of L&O regular, and I'm reading this one. Now, maybe I'm just too jaded or maybe I haven't gotten to the worst of the worst yet, but I remember one review saying it's not for the weak stomached, but so far I haven't come across any cases that I find particularly disturbing, any more than the next account of a sick, psychotic, depraved maniac's crime spree. Has anybody else read this book?
