Yes. A boyfriend of mine had a stepmother who was a theif and so were all her kids. And one of the three kids did it as his full time gig.

Man, my cousin was GOOD at that. Probably still is.
One time when we were teens we walked around a store and I had NO CLUE how much shit she had stuffed in odd places! When we got by the front door she picked up a stray sweater and took it back to the register like, "this was too close to the front door; we wouldn't want anybody walking out the store with this, would we?"
And then waltzed out with what I later found out in grandma's living room to be about $300 worth of merchandise lol.
