Leaving the crock pot on Empty

Do any of you use a crock pot and leave it simmering overnight while you sleep or let it keep going while you're at work...or is that too much of a possible fire hazard for you?

We tend to only use it on weekends so we're home.

Not overnight, through the day. The only thing that cooks overnight is the Thanksgiving turkey in the oven.

I've always left the crock pot going. Rarely overnight because the food would be done by morning. But started it in the morning & left the house? Sure.

I have had 3 crock pots all of them cook the food faster than the recipe says. I am home when I use it.

Not sure about leaving it on while the house was empty but I have seen my mom let things simmer in it over night.

I should get one. I wouldn't have a problem with it either way. My mother would do both.

I have a crock pot but I'd be too paranoid about possible fire hazards to leave it on overnight or while I was away for a long period of time. Tell you the truth, I rarely even use it.
