    The U.S. is one of the few countries where milk is commonly sold by the American gallon (3.785L) in plastic jugs. Yet we buy it in that quantity, and I can't stand those quart- or, even worse, pint-sized cardboard boxes.

    So, how do you buy your (liquid form) milk?

    I don't use much of it. Mostly for cooking occasionally, my wife's coffee (which she drinks a lot of!) and cereal my daughter may eat so 1/2 gal is the right size for us. Anything less means another trip to the store and anything more gets poured down the drain.

    Gallons, gallons gallons gallons. We drink it all the time, when we were kids we'd get 4 gallons twice a week.

    I go thru more than two gallons a week by myself. I used to drink 2% but realized in the quantity I consumed that was still a lot of fat and cholesterol. So now I do fat free and have noticed the difference and my cholesterol numbers have come down.

    I buy a quart or half gallon at a time depends on what I am going to use it for that week.

    I buy half gallons. Whenever I buy gallons, I never drink it all in time before the expiration date.

    I buy the 1/2 gallon size cartons. I buy the lactose free for hubby (they cost a small fortune)and use it for puddings or any other thing that requires milk that he is going to eat. I buy regular milk for myself since I am not lactose intolerant.
