It's unlike them to not check in, but let's hope they are fine and just without power. I think Bryce and Tmonty are both from NY as well. Hope they check in to let us know how they are as well.

Red, the only reason I can is because I can make it to work. LOL, NY does call Facebook the Devil but it's been very useful keeping in touch and getting info.

I'm fine. I'm from NY but I live in California and was there when Sandy hit. I'm in Philly right now and trying to get up to New York this weekend. But all of that depends on how "cleaned up" it is by then. It's extremely difficult to get into Manhattan right now since the tunnels are still flooded and the Subways only have limited service. It's easy to forget that New York City is actually an "island" until all of the tunnels and subways get shut down and you can't get on it.

Hope all is well with everyone we are missing, I have never in my 73 years seen a more destructive storm. Even Katrina seems pale by comparison, I guess because it was so localized.

I'm very worried. I heard on the news that many New York residents are without power. If this is the case for them, then I hope that they are able to get someplace safe.

Sounds like some areas are having a really rough time.

its VERY hard to get into NY. I have friends that commute from south jersey to NY, and they were telling me that if u do not have a full car load of people u can get in BEFORE 6am. After 6am, your car must be a full load, or u will be turned away. and 2 ppl does not a carload make :O

Tony messaged me. He's alright. No net access, just a phone. He can see our posts but can't log in. But he told me to tell y'all that he's okay.

i called NY twice, and only got a voicemail. She may not have access to charge her phone. This all sucks.

I found out yesterday that the USPS processing plant in Kearny NJ had 6ft of water in it... so the mail for north jersey is being shipped out to philly and west chester ny, while my plant is processing all of south and central jersey.

A friend told me that bayonne is still COMPLETELY underwater! its crazy

If she still doesn't have access to electricity the phone has probably been unusable for a while & I read some of the carriers are having issues too.

Hey gang I made it back, my internet just started working at home. Thanks for your concern!! Thank you to FM for delivering my message too! If you have not heard from NYstyle its probably because her power might be out and she has no way of charging her cell phone. There are still thousands on Long Island and in Queens where NY lives that have no power. Mass destruction everywhere, I have never seen anything like this in my life. I was fortunate my house was spared but one brother and one sister of mine lost everything when the surge came in and flooded their homes. I have my sister living with me now until she can get everything back in order which is going to take a very long time.

Trains just started running again out here so I can go back to work tomorrow. One of the biggest problems is getting gas, the lines are blocks and blocks long, some friends of mine have waited up to 7 hours on lines only to be turned away when the station ran out of gas. I don't understand why the governor did not call for odd and even days like they did in Jersey, its sickening. A lot of gas stations have gas but no power to pump it.

Most of the beaches are now gone, destroyed in the storm. In all my years I have never seen a storm of this magnitude, never saw wind blowing the way it did, all trees toppled over into the streets and on homes and power lines. My house missed a tree falling on it because another tree next to it caught it and held it up.

I am frustrated because I wanted to help my brother out but had limited gas and could only get to my sister's house to start the process of throwing everything in her house out. I hope in the next few days things will start getting back to some semblance of normalcy but it is going to take years to repair all this destruction to Long Island and Staten Island and New Jersey.
