Where do you go to get your eyeglasses?

I need to just go and get glasses. It's gone from needing them to drive safely at night to needing them to drive safely during the day.

So, to those of you with glasses, do you go to an actual doctor or just to an optometrist at a place such as Walmart or the mall?

I've gone to optometrists, opthamologists and places like Lens Crafters. The last pair I got weren't cheap. I finally went for the progressive lenses because I got tired of taking them off to see close/read and I always get the Transitions lenses that darken in the sun. I'm happy with them.

Got my last ones at Vision Works. A lot of times these places will run a Buy 1 Get 1 Free or will give you a free upgrade like Transitions or free frame, stuff like that. It's how I ended up with 2 pairs.

Jay went for glasses about a year ago and he got those that darken and lighten. Pretty cool. But he selected the most ugly frames on the planet!

Last time I was fitted for glasses was when I was fifteen. I went to Eye Master's in the mall. I forgot how much they costed, but months later when I got my first job, best believe I got myself a pair of contacts.

My vision is not that bad. I haven't owned a pair of glasses or contacts since I was about 20/21. In the meantime, I've went to Eye Master's, Sears and JC Penny eye centers.

If I were to need to get eyeglasses now, I'd shop around those places to see what prices they offer, plus throw in maybe Sam's Club.

I totally forgot about Pennys! I will have to check there. In fact, I think that is where I planned on going ages ago when I had an entertainment book coupon.

Red if you get the Sunday paper there are sometimes coupons in there from local stores or chains.

I gotto place that has a licensed optometrist to get glasses. I used to have a regular eye doctor, but that's when I was younger. Usually I just get a regular eye exam, some new frames and I'm good.
