I'm slightly near sighted and have been wearing reading glasses since I was 9. I don't wear them every day or all the time but I do have 3 pairs of them.

I'm nearsighted & supposed to wear them. I need them to see but can't read with them.

I've been nearsighted since I was 13. I reached the point a while ago when I could no longer read or see things close up with my glasses on. Everything was out of focus. When I'm on the computer I don't wear them. I'm really leaning towards getting bi-focals or progressive lenses for my next pair because it's become a pain in the ass taking them off and putting them on.

I've had to wear reading glasses since my 40s. Now I need reading and distance lenses and wear bifocals.
Why is it the movie isn't really that blurred if I watch it without my glasses, but the exit sign by the screen is?

Yep yep. Wear them all the time. I'm nearsighted too.....I can see without them enough to get by, but I don't prefer to walk around all day without my glasses.

im near sighted as well, but i havent had a pair of glasses/contacts in about 10 years, ive been fine without them, so i guess my vision cant be that bad to where i need them on a daily basis.

I never needed glasses until in my 40s, when I was working a warehouse and realized I could not read the serial # on a compressor because I couldn't get my head far enuf away from it on the shelf.
It's called presbyopia (Old Eyes).
I've had two upgrades since then, + I now need lenses to see distance.

I've never had to wear glasses, luckily. I've always had pretty good vision. My Mom wears them though - after she lost one of her contacts in a pool

Nah....but my eyesight ain't as sharp as it used to be. My eyes gets tired easily now, especially at night....sometimes I will close one and try to read with just the one open.

I've been nearsighted since I was about 8 years old, but I think I stopped having to get new prescriptions back when I was about 10 or 11. I wore those little, not the trendy rectangular little ones you see, but little round ones and wore them for years even though I kept looking over them so it defeated the purpose...went in a couple years back for a bigger pair like my sunglasses, they had ONE pair of normal sized frames, everything else is the little itty bitty stuff, what the hell?

Man, when I was a kid I didn't even take them off for that, I would go to sleep wearing my glasses...looking back now, I don't know why, I did that for years until the wire rims cut into the sides of my head, then I stopped because I wanted the indentions to come out, and that took a long time.
