Roomate horror stories!

I'm sure a lot of us have lived with roomates, whether for financial reasons, while working, or because it was the only way to get a room at college. House sharing, dormitory living, whatever circumstance threw you into the wailing pit of having to put up with sharing your home with someone you didn't necessarily choose or did choose, let's hear some tales from the depths!

I've got a few, but don't feel like going into details. There have been times when I was the horrid roommate. Not getting into that either.

Never had a roomate so never experienced any of that kind of drama. Just married twice. Plenty enough there lol

When I was a young airman straight out of basic training, I had to share a dormitory/barracks with a guy (back when they still had roommates for junior enlisted folks). The asshole ended up steeling checks from me and buying things in my name. They were only "small" things like ordering a pizza or buying a carton of cigarettes, so I didn't really notice the money missing from my checking account. I only found out about it after I got the stubs returned to me in the mail (and by then he was already kicked out of the military for some other shit). What pissed me off about it is that he was actually my friend. He could have just asked me for money and I would have given it to him, but he had to go and steal from me instead!

This is the same roommate who: after leaving for work one day, 5 minutes later I realized that I had forgot my ID in the room and came back and opened the door to find him naked and jacking off to a porno in the middle of the room. He couldn't wait 10 minutes? He couldn't put the deadbolt on? He couldn't do that in the bathroom? Jeez, some people's kids!

I never had "roommates" ... but my mom and bro came to live in my house. My mom drove me NUTS!! not only would she cook and slam the pots and pans, bang the cabinets---knowing I was sleeping.. but when i wasnt home, she would snoop thru my closets and drawers! it sucked sooo bad.

Guess I've been lucky. No roommate horror stories, just annoyances on occasion and I have lived in open bay barracks with 20 other guys, barracks with 4 guys per room, crash pads with however many mattresses on the floor and a couple times with just one or two other rommates.

I lived communally with about 6 other ppl who ran the free clinic in New Orleans but one of the older clinic counsellors had us over each week to have a group talk, which helped clear up the normal problems of group living.

I had a roommate in college who peed on herself...and stuffed her clothes under the bed like nothing happened.

'Nuff said.

I had a room mate that wouldn't shower, like at all. She did a lot of coke, was going to dudes houses and getting laid and doing coke and wouldn't shower for like a freaking week. Ew.

I had another room mate in high school that would have sex with guys in my room while I was out, and would leave the condoms under my bed.

OK, there was a bad roommate, worse than the ones who ate my food in the communal fridge and you brot up memories that I had forgotten.

I was sharing a house with another staff member on campus where I worked. This guy once scribbled down a fone number on a book cover I was reading that was left on the living room table. And, He didn't see the transgression of that.

Perhaps worse, he used my toothbrush. I use flavorless baking soda to brush my teeth. Imagine putting your brush in your mouth and all of a sudden the flavor of toothpaste comes out. He didn't seem to grasp why I would get so bent out of shape over that.

If he did it more than once I would have hidden another tooth brush to use for myself and left the original in the bathroom. To use to clean the toilet.

I don't have any "horror" stories. My room mates in college were OK and the worst thing about living with my brother and one of his friends was that I was the neatest one. I used to go see Deb over the weekend and when I got back home after work on Monday nights I had to clean the kitchen before I could heat up a can of soup.

I've lived with roommates, but I don't have any really horror stories. Just a few annoyances.
