States seceding from the Union.

With the reelection of Obama, there seems to be a question of if Texas will, or can, secede from the US. Do you think this is likely to happen? Can you imagine any state, from here on out, would secede?

To answer the intended question, no, I don't see any chance of any state seceding from the Union. But since the Blue states subsidize the Red states (and it's Red states that are holding secession votes), it would probably be to the benefit of the the Blue states to say, "Don't let the door hit you ion the ass on your way out."

So it would be the Blue states who succeed!

It's not going to happen but it would be hilarious if Texas did. We would have to be sure we built that fence they've all been so fond of to keep them out of OUR country so they can stay in their own. And then we could wish them the best of luck with not only maintaining their roads, schools & economy but best of all with those Mexican Cartels.

I doubt it. A few years ago Long Island wanted to secede from New York State.

I'd love for CA to secede and take Oregon and Washington with it. But I don't think anything will come of this. Not that Texas wouldn't do better on it's own. It probably would. Just don't think it's gonna happen.

Is it irony that it was the leader of the Republican party who preserved the union last time and now it's the Red states who are holding these ridiculous petition drives, the main purpose of which is so the Obama administration will have to respond because of it's "We the People" program on the White House website?

It ain't gonna happen and by the way if California seceded the rest of the country would feel the pinch, Calif has the 8th largest economy in the world! Very likely all your fruits and vegetables would cost much more as they would be imported from California.

there are actually a few states that have parties to do it. remember sarah palin's husband was in the "Alaskan Liberation Party" or something like that??

Remember I was telling you about the nut at work... he JOINED the Texas Nationalist Movement.. there are only 200,000 members so that is not many... and that includes ppl who do not contribute money, but joined the website. it isnt going anywhere... but IF it did.. I have quite a few names to put on the list to be sent there LOL
