Whether it was food, service or other customers, what stands out in your mind as some of your worse restaurant experiences?

Ordered a meal, it took over 45 minutes to get the order, it was the wrong order after all that time and the waiter got a bit huffy. Finally got the right meal and I left him a penny tip.

Ordered rib dinner from a Chinese Restaurant that I had never been to before. When I got the ribs they were green looking so me and my friend just got up and walked out. Yes they ran after us but we were faster.

The one that stands out most is when we were in Myrtle Beach about 15 years ago with a large group of people and it took forever for some of us to get our meals at this Italian restaurant. As a matter of fact, a few of us never did get our food. And it's not like we were just sitting there not saying anything to the server. But because we had shared rides, it's not like people could just get up and leave.

I was out with a jackass I had been dating for a while (we were on the downslide at this point). We went to Outback 30 minutes before their closing and even though the hostess INSISTED it was cool, after seating ourselves and watching people pass us for 10 minutes we said fuck it and left to go next door to Applebees...

....and were greeted by two hostesses who were complete and utter ditzes and kept asking us to sit at the bar when we wanted a booth. We should have left but were both starving. However, my douchebag date threw an internal bitch fit and sat at the table texting the whole time.

Our waitress was CLEARLY either fucking the boss or related to him; she couldn't get SHIT right. Never came to refill our drinks and the food took forever. Finally something came but it was only my order--his came 15 minutes later! My steak tasted like chicken--LITERALLY. It was so rubbery I wasn't convinced it was steak! So I sent it back for another.

Meanwhile, his food came and he inhaled it. I had already filled up on vegetables, my fries, and HIS fries, so I was going to just box my steak up. My replacement steak took 30 minutes and something told me to taste it because it had the same "old meat" look as the first one....DAMN IT ALL TO HELL IF IT DIDN'T TASTE THE SAME FUCKING WAY.

So of course we ask for a manager. That idiot made so many excuses as to why the shit tasted like shit and asked if I wanted to order something else--um, hello, if you couldn't get it right the first time and held me hostage in Applebees for y'all to fuck it up the SECOND time, why would I?? Told him hell no, comp that shit and take the loss.

Meanwhile, the internal bitch fit started becoming external. Between his attitude and the horrible service and the waitress who had the GALL to ask if we enjoyed the meal after an almost 2 hour hostage situation, I damn near snapped!

Definitely the worst date ever. We didn't last too much longer after that lol.

Oh I have many. Being a vegetarian and your boyfriend isnt... oh it makes for "fun" times.

I asked for a sandwich sans hamburger once. The guy looked SHOCKED that I didnt want meat. I said "Im a vegetarian, please just ask for the veggies and cheese on the sandwich, leave the hamburger off. You can give it to my boyfriend if it makes things easier." Well this waiter was an ASS. Dropped off our drinks without saying a word, the drinks were at the edge of the table when he just set them there and walked away before we could ask him a question. Took forever to get our food. He just drops off the plates and quickly walks away. I lift up the top bun... there is meat on it. So we try to flag down our waiter... he refuses to come near. Finally does, we tell him that hey... there is meat on it. He puts his hands on his hips and says "REALLY?!?!?! OH MY GOD!" Takes the plate and stomps off. The hell? Comes back not even 2 minutes later. My boyfriend stops me and says "Wait... look at your sandwich." There were bits of meat stuck to the cheese and bread. All he did was remove the meat. At this point I am PISSED. Call him over again, hes pissed. My boyfriend takes charge and says he couldnt believe someone would do that, I stated that I dont eat meat and it could make me sick. The waiter is scoffing and stomps off. The manager comes and we explain what happened... in the background we see the waiter giving us dirty looks. I get a new sandwich, we get free beer, and the manager serves us from then on out.

About half the time I ask for anything without meat it comes with meat on it. I had someone that worked at Burger King I think argue with me why meat is good. K dude, I am the one paying, you work here, dont tell me how I should eat :p

At Subway I got really upset when someone had a tuna fish sandwich with extra tuna, and the person cut my sandwich with that same knife and tuna crap was on my sandwich, and told me to eat around it. Um, no!!!

OH I was at a really nice pizza place when I was pregnant. A highly regarded Italian place, and I wanted pizza! So we order some pizza. Cheese pizza. Not hard, right? I bite into the pizza... it tastes weird. Take another bite and start to gag. I lift up the cheese... theres fucking ham under the cheese. I couldnt eat after that. The chef said "I thought youd like more than just cheese." WTF? I ASKED FOR CHEESE FOR A REASON! Meat DISGUSTS me. It didnt help that Lilys father got little tiny squid on his plate... I have never eaten there again.

The asking for no meat stories go on... seriously some people act like its a crime to not like meat!

I didnt know chik fil a put any cheese on their sandwiches honestly!

Wendys is one of the best places for me to get food. They NEVER mess up the food! And their sandwich that has cheddar and the liquid cheese is good. I get just that, its a great "grilled cheese" type food Smile

Are your bad experiences from out west? When I became a vegetarian in 1970 my midwest & southern family thot I would die without eating meat. (forget the millions of ppl in India who do quite well without it).

I hate the ppl who think you should just remove the hamburger or other meat that has contaminated your vegetarian meal. I always ask them "if a roach fell in your glass of water, would you just pick it out and continue drinking?" Being in places with lots of Jews help. They understand Kosher concepts of keeping meat separate from other foods - even to using certain cookware for one and not the other.

In the '70s & '80s a lot of packaged foods contained animal fat so I really read the labels. Nabisco Oreos were out but Sunshine Hydrox was Kosher. I ended up eating lots of K foods & pastries because they did not contain animal fat. Now it looks like the animal fat has been discontinued in most pastries - probably because they realized a lot of ppl would not buy their product for that reason.

My complaints are with the robotic automatons who work in fast food places and CANNOT deviate from the plan. Like, when on the road I eat at Subways and since I am not eating any meat, ask for a variety of cheese as a replacement. Some see the logic in that and yet some will actually argue with me that they can only put X amount of cheese on a sub (but they never offer to subtract the amount of money they save on meat that was not on it.)

I always found it ironic that the best places for a vegetarian in our country to eat while on the road was Wendy's and Steak Houses, where you could get a salad bar and a cheese baked potato.

Its pretty much everywhere that I encounter a problem... even though there is a high amount of vegetarians in Colorado. People just dont get it. But Ive been introduced to some vegetarian or kosher places here and they are AMAZING! I ate at a kosher deli and they put so much cheese on the sandwich, not like Subway Wink Though I do ask for extra cheese and am not charged. But subway puts so little cheese on the sandwich its ridiculous!

And the roach analogy works, I would NOT eat a frickin roach infested food... just as I dont like meat infested food. Yuck.

I guess cheese is like meat--people expect you to like it for some reason!

I went to Olive Garden a few years ago and when my spaghetti came, the lady sat the tray down and asked, "Would you like some cheese on your spaghetti?"

For the most part, I DESPISE cheese on my spaghetti. But before I could even FORM the words "No, thank you," her overenthusiastic azz yells, "OF COURSE YOU DO!" and starts furiously grating cheese on my spaghetti! I was so stunned I tried to use my hands to shield my plate from the raining cheese!! I was so hungry I didn't even have the patience to send it back, just scooped that shit out while she was still at the table lol.
