    For some reason, I can't stand Christmas update letters. I get it's nice to update people, but they all seem so braggy. You never get something akin to, "We found pot in Jr's room and our little princess had three pregnancy scares."

    I send cards with a loose photo of my son on the inside.

    I did one, once back in 1992 a couple of years after I'd gotten married. I got tired of people asking me when I was going to have a baby, so I got out my sewing machine, made some doll-sized dresses and hats, and luckily the cats I had at the time were easy-going, so they posed for our "family" Christmas card that year. People finally stopped asking me about a baby after I mailed these out: LOL
