What's the nicest thing you've ever done for someone? Have you ever done something where, if others were to have seen it, they would have said you "restored their faith in humanity?"

Re: Restored faith in humanity?
I guess it was that time I rescued those orphans from a burning building on may way home from the hospital after donating a kidney. OK seriously. Just little things like returning a wallet with everything that was still in it when I found it or holding a door or giving my place in line or staying with someone who was in a minor accident I witnessed or giving back the extra change a cashier gave me (if they weren't a dick.) I expect there are some here who could put me to shame (if I had any pride ).

This. I think about the greatest thing I ever did in secret was when the library was collecting donations to fund their summer reading program for the kids and everybody else was dropping spare change into the jar, when nobody was looking I put a $5 bill in it. They didn't get a lot of money over the summer but they managed to make it work.

I've done all of those little things that make me feel more human and connected to other humans.
The wallet returned with cash in it gave me a perverse sense of causing shock in the person getting it back so maybe that one should be scratched.

Loaned/gave money. Actually, I'm sure I've done something nicer, but I can't remember it right now.
