I don't like long movies. They should give an intermission like they did when I was a kid.
However, my favorite is Avatar
Followed by the 3 Lord of the Rings movies
I guess The Last Samurai and Dances With Wolves would be in there too.
What really surprised me was a Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner
It was the first feature film ever to be written, directed and acted entirely in Inuktitut. Set in the ancient past, the film retells an Inuit legend passed down through centuries of oral tradition. It kept my interest for nearly 2 hours and 50 minutes without me realizing how long it was.
However, my favorite is Avatar

These and Malcolm X. I usually don't mind long movies if they're any good. If it can keep my intrigued, the longer, the better.

I tried to play by the rules and only list titles that are at least 180 min. long but sometimes I had to break the rule. For me, anything over 120 min. is a long movie so there are many titles not on this list.
