Never hazed or been hazed. I guess it's supposed to create a bond between members of the group but some of that shit gets out of hand. When I was in college some of my friends did the frat thing. No thanks. (I still got to go to the keggers

Apparently, it must be some kind engrained cultural thing to torment the new guy for entertainment because it is so common.
I personally think it needs to be stopped by anyone in control of young men because I would consider killing the new guy to be out of control. And, it happens all too frequently in college frat hazing.
I never went to college but experienced a hazing ritual from all the good-ol-boys on the oil rig when I was the new ruffneck.
They had me kick my own leg out from under me by seeing who could kick a broom the furthest with your legs crossed.
A contest to see who could climb the highest on a stand of drilling pipe - the other guys didn't go too high - I beat their height but the driller smeared pipe dope on the pipe below me. (it's a grease compound impervious to detergent and heat).
Then they said 'Heavy' the driller could pick up 3 men at one time. As we laid down and crossed our arms and legs I realized I was the guy in the middle and restrained by the other two. The driller was gonna open my pants and smear my hairy parts with pipe dope (luckily my belt buckle wouldn't open).

I thought about joining a particular sorority....but that's one of the things that kept me from going with it. I ain't with that shit. You're not going to make me do something stupid or make me look like a idiot for the sake of being a member of your group. Harmless fun or pranks are cool......but most of the hazing practices go too far.
